




Leroy "Satchel" Paige entered the Major Leagues in 1948 as the oldest rookie ever at age 42. He was a legend in the Negro Leagues for more than 20 years. In the Negro Leagues he threw at least two No-Hitters and in 1933 he pitched 62 consecutive Shutout Innings. In the Major Leagues he was a member of 2 All-Star teams and one World Championship team. In 1971 Paige was the first player elected to the Hall of Fame by the Committee on Negro Leagues. In 2000 he was named to the All Century Team.
