Pete Rose was selected as the 1963 National League Rookie of the Year. He was a member of 17 All-Star teams and 3 World Championship teams. Rose won 3 league Batting Titles and 2 Gold Gloves. In 1973 he was selected as the National League's Most Valuable Player. Rose, the All-Time career Hits leader, was banned from baseball in 1989 denying him what was sure to be an induction into the Hall of Fame. Nevertheless, he was selected to the All-Century Team in 2000.
