Babe Ruth was the premier power hitter of his day. He was a member of 2 All-Star teams and 7 World Championship teams. As a pitcher Ruth led his league in Earned Run Average once. As a hitter Ruth led his league in Home Runs 11 times, RBIs 6 times and he won a league Batting Title. He was selected as the American League's Most Valuable Player in 1923. He held the single season Home Run record of 60 for 34 years and the All-Time Home Run record of 714 for 39 years. Ruth was a member of the inaugural class to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1936 and in 2000 he was named to the All Century Team.
