Players are assigned points in two categories. Achievements and Statistics. Points accumulated in the Japanese and Negro Leagues are divided in half.
Achievements
- 1 Point for being selected for an All-Star Squad.
- 1 Point for winning a Batting Title.
- 1 Point for winning an ERA Title.
- 1 Point for winning a Home Run Title.
- 1 Point for winning a RBI Title.
- 1 Point for winning a Stolen Base Title.
- 1 Point for pitchers who lead the league in Saves.
- 1 Point for pitchers who lead the league in Strikeouts.
- 1 Point for pitchers who lead the league in Victories.
- 1 Bonus Point for winning a Triple Crown in Batting (Home Runs, RBIs & Batting Average) or Pitching (Wins, Strikeouts & ERA).
- 1 Point for being a member of a World Championship Team.
- 1 Half Point for being on a World Series Team.
- 2 Points for winning a Cy Young Award.
- 1 Point for winning the Fireman of the Year Award.
- 1 Point for winning a Gold Glove Award.
- 2 Points for winning a Most Valuable Player Award.
- 1 Point for being selected as the Rookie of the Year.
- 1 Point for throwing a No-Hitter.
- 1 Point for a hitting streak of 50 games.
- 1 Point for throwing shutout ball for 50 consecutive innings.
- 1 Point for hitting 40 Home Runs and stealing 40 bases in a season.
- 1 Point for being named to the All-Century Team.
- 2 Points for being named in the top 30 of the All-Century Team.
- 3 Points for being named as a starting player on the All-Century Team.
- 5 Bonus Points for being elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Statistics
- 1 Point for every .100 on Batting Average.
- 1 Point for every 1000 Hits accumulated.
- 1 Point for every 500 RBIs accumulated.
- 1 Point for every 100 Home Runs accumulated.
- 1 Point for every 200 Stolen Bases accumulated.
- 1 Point for every 500 Runs accumulated.
- 1 Point for every 200 Doubles accumulated.
- 1 Point for every 100 Triples accumulated.
- 1 Point for every 100 Pitching Victories.
- 1 Point for every 1000 Strikeouts accumulated.
- 1 Point for every 100 Saves accumulated.
- 1 Point for every 20 Shutouts accumulated.
- 1 Point for every point under 5 on ERA.
- 1 Point for every point over .500 on Pitching Percentage.
